Hakon’s Hall

January 15, 2010 By: Bergen Category: Bergen Attractions

Royal banquets have been held throughout the centuries at this ceremonial hall, which was built between 1247 and 1261.

Built by King Hakon for his son’s wedding, it was restored after World War II when its roof was obliterated.

Now it is a popular venue for special occasions and concerts during local festivals. In addition to a rich history, ornate portals, woodwork, and interior decor make this a worthwhile tour.
