Lysoen Island
Lysoen means the Island of Light and on this beautiful stretch of land you’ll find the extraordinary villa once inhabited by famed Norwegian violinist Ole Bull.
The virtuoso influenced many of today’s artists and gathered quite a following, becoming one of Norway’s most famous residents. His villa includes miles and miles of pathways that offer hours of scenic hiking or strolling.
A café, picnic spots, and even sections available for swimming make this an appealing summer stop.
Concerts are also held throughout the year and always during the Bergen International Festival in May and June.
May 19-Aug 26 Mon-Sat noon-4pm, Sun 11am-5pm; Sep 1- Sep 31 noon-4pm
